Central Technology was founded in 1984 with two principal aims:

The Company became a wholly owned subsidiary of Longcliffe in 1996. Since that time the range of products and services has been developed and expanded in order to provide a wide range of technically superior calcium and magnesium based materials for use in the fine chemical and polymer industries.
Central Technology's founding philosophy was to bring the highest standards of technical, production and quality control to its products. This approach proved timely - the 1986 Challenger Space Shuttle Disaster was blamed upon the failure of a fluorelastomer O-ring seal.
By pursuing that philosophy of care and attention to detail Central Technology's products have achieved wide international acceptance across suppliers to the automotive and aerospace industries - in some of the industries most technically demanding applications.
Central Technology offers a wide range of activators and additives for incorporation into rubber and plastic formulations including calcium hydroxides, calcium oxides, magnesium oxides and precipitated calcium carbonates (PCC)
Products are sold through a network of distributors in the UK, Europe, the United States and Canada.
Central Technology and its associates offer wide technical expertise in a number of related fields including mining, minerals, lime processing, fine chemicals and polymers.
Project work is undertaken for a number of clients worldwide, ably supported by Longcliffe's research, analytical and pilot plant facilities located at its home base in the UK.
