All products are tested constantly during manufacture to ensure conformity to published specifications. Stone is sampled from the quarry face before blasting and after crushing. Finished product is also taken from individual tankers prior to dispatch so that Certificates of Analysis and Conformity can be issued against customer deliveries whenever needed.
Products are analysed using highly sophisticated instruments which measure pH levels, trace elements and particle size as well as colour and brightness. Tests include the analysis of trace elements by XRF (X-ray Fluorescent Analyser), particle-size distribution by laser analysis or sieve tests, and surface area measurement by BET. Analysis by XRF -- capable of analysing most known elements, rapidly and accurately – ensures that quality standards are constantly maintained.
Our Statistical Process Control (SPC) guarantees the highest standards of quality assurance throughout the production process. All records are held on computer, and SPC makes it possible to spot any trends which might be apparent in stone quarried from a particular area
Nothing is left to chance – from the cost-efficient, contamination-free processing of the raw material at the quarry face to sampling at the point of dispatch – every aspect is under complete control.

Note: Both FEMAS and TASCC schemes dovetail with the UK livestock assurance (Little Red Tractor) schemes which the major supermarkets make a requirement for the home-produced livestock products they buy.
