The company’s manufacturing operations are externally certified and audited under the internationally recognised EN ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System. In addition, all materials supplied into the animal feed and associated industries are certified to FEMAS, whilst transport for such materials is certified to the TASCC scheme for road haulage.
Stone is sampled prior to blasting at the quarry face and throughout the production process in order to ensure that finished product complies with published specifications. Certificates of Analysis and Conformity may then be issued against customer deliveries wherever needed.
Products are analysed, in our onsite laboratories, utilising both traditional methods and sophisticated “state of the art” instrumentation. The wide range of both physical and chemical tests performed include: Analysis of trace elements by X Ray Fluorescence spectroscopy; particle size distribution of powders by laser diffraction and specific surface area by the BET gas absorption method. Other significant properties measured are pH, whiteness, brightness and bulk density.
Nothing is left to chance -from the quarry face to the point of final despatch - Statistical Process Control (SPC) guarantees the highest standards of quality assurance throughout the production process.
Note: Both FEMAS and TASCC schemes dovetail with the UK livestock assurance (Little Red Tractor) schemes which the major supermarkets make a requirement for the home-produced livestock products they buy.
