The efficiency of our supply chain and transport operations is of critical importance, and our experienced sales and logistics teams ensure a fast and reliable service.
Longcliffe extracts, processes, stores and transports around 5000 tonnes of product every working day with 99% of production scheduled for delivery the following day, if not the same day. Deliveries are made in all weathers, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day if necessary.
Our fleet of around 40 bulk tankers and tippers offers full national road transport coverage for the timely delivery of our products. All vehicles are fitted with the latest GPS tracking technology offering real-time delivery information and helping to ensure delivery targets are met on time.
Our vehicles are solely dedicated to supplying our products and, where necessary, a vehicle can be completely dedicated to carrying only calcium carbonate – so avoiding any risk of contamination. The fact that we have our own fleet of bulk pressure tankers and tipper trucks, and carry out all our own vehicle maintenance and repair, means that even very tight deliveries can be met reliably.
Health and safety is of course paramount in any delivery service and Longcliffe provides all our drivers with on-going, high-quality training to ensure not only do they perform their duties in a safe manner but also demonstrate exemplary behaviour and attitude.
Our drivers have a powerful sense of responsibility to their customers – and many of them have become good friends over the years.
Longcliffe is totally committed to investing and maintaining a modern, transport fleet that meets, and often exceeds, relevant industry regulations (e.g. TASCC) and emissions standards. We also use GPS tracking and management systems to optimise fleet efficiency, safety and fuel consumption demonstrating our committment to operating our distribution network in the most sustainable way possible.
