Harper Adams University College and Longcliffe are building a strong educational and working partnership from foundations that began in 2009.
A student is selected annually, from a competitive list of countryside based course applicants, for a year long placement.
The successful candidate works within the company, dealing with the workforce, local authorities, interested parties and the general public to promote good practice, environmental awareness, conservation, protection, enhancement and habitat creation.
Students from Clifton Community Arts School, Rotherham are welcomed to the Brassington quarry at Longcliffe every year.
The visit forms part of a range of exciting curriculum learning opportunities the school has developed for its students to enable them to learn effectively and succeed not only at school but in later life as well.
The trip helps their GCSE geography group improve their understanding of the environmental issues with respect to quarrying operations and best practices for conservation.
Longcliffe are pleased to sponsor Parwich Primary School's football team. An integral part of the rural community in the beautiful Peak District; Parwich Primary School provides high quality education for local children.
