Agricultural hydrate
Agricultural hydrate is a relatively coarse, unrefined form of hydrated lime, used mainly for adjusting the acidity of soils.
Burnt limes
Burnt limes are quicklimes mainly consisting of calcium oxide produced from calcium carbonate burnt in a kiln at a temperature in excess of 800 degrees centigrade.
Dolomitic limes
Dolomitic limes are limes mainly consisting of calcium oxide and magnesium oxide (see calcined dolomite), calcium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide.
Fine lime
Fine lime generally refers to screened products with a top size below 0.6 cm.
High-calcium lime
High-calcium lime is quick-or slaked lime produced from high-calcium limestone.
High-calcium quicklime
High-calcium quicklime contains mainly CaO and not more than 5% (m/m) MgO.
Hydrated calcium lime
Hydrated calcium limes are powdered slaked limes consisting mainly of calcium hydroxide.
Hydrated dolomitic lime
Hydrated dolomitic limes are powdered slaked limes consisting of calcium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide.
Hydrated lime
Hydrated lime, technically known as calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2 ,is produced from the highly exothermic reaction of water and calcium oxide known as the slaking process.
Lime
Lime, quicklime or burnt lime, refers to the white caustic solid calcium oxide. It is often incorrectly used to refer to limestone.
Lime slurry
Lime slurry see milk of lime.
Lime water
Lime water refers to a saturated solution of calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2 and is indistinguishable visibly from water.
Magnesia
Magnesia is the traditional name for magnesium oxide.
Masons' lime
Masons' lime is a hydrated lime used in mortar.
Milk of lime
Milk of lime is a fluid suspension of slaked lime in water that is milky in appearance.
Over-burned lime
Over-burned lime is quicklime that has a low reactivity to water, as a result of being calcined at high temperatures.
Quicklime
Quicklime, otherwise commonly known as burnt lime, is chemically regarded to be calcium oxide.
Shell limes
Shell limes are a form of calcium lime, produced by the calcination of shells.
Slaked lime
Slaked limes are air limes mainly consisting of calcium and possibly magnesium hydroxides, resulting from the slaking of quicklime.
Unslaked lime
Unslaked lime is quicklime that has not undergone chemical reaction with water.
