Blends

Calcimag Limestone & Dolomite Blends

Longcliffe produces several blended products at our various quarry sites in Derbyshire in order to supply the vast agricultural industry with the screened limes they demand. Our operations include the production of Calcimag, a specific blend of ground calcium and calcium-magnesium carbonates, derived from very high-purity carboniferous limestone and dolomite. All products are crushed and screened for improved size accuracy, resulting in a granule size of less than 3.35mm. Calcimag is a fast-acting liming product capable of neutralising acidic soil, resulting in increased fertility. It has a high neutralising value (NV) and provides essential calcium and magnesium minerals to the soil. Our facilities and operations are fully accredited with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, ensuring our products are some of the best on the market.

Properties and Benefits

Calcimag is a very diverse material consisting of a blend of both dolomite and limestone. The typical physical properties of Calcimag are outlined below:

Appearance grey/buff granules
Total neutralising value* 56.5%
Calcium Oxide (%) 43.5
Magnesium Oxide (%)  10.4
Typical Moisture (%)  2
Granule Size nominally <3.35mm

*CaO equivalent on a dry weight basis. If you have any further enquiries or need more specific information, please call our sales office on 01629 540284 to request a technical datasheet.

Grades
