Limestone blocks, polished panels and monumental stone
Limestone blocks and polished panels have remained a decorative and tasteful choice for architects and builders. All Longcliffe blocks are individually crafted and cut on a bespoke basis.
Longcliffe limestone is especially impressive when its inner beauty is unlocked by polishing. As an interior design choices in floor tiles or wall panels our limestone creates a tasteful, cool and serene atmosphere.
Our highest grade is monumental stone. This is a very uniform limestone with few surface imperfections ideal for sculptures, plaques and ornamental features.
Hopton Wood Stone
Small-scale quarrying of Hopton Wood Stone has recently been revived by Longcliffe and Lowes Marble. Hopton Wood Stone is a beautiful cream limestone that was used for interiors in numerous important buildings including Chatsworth House, Windsor Castle and the Houses of Parliament until the early 1960’s when most accessible deposits were virtually exhausted.
