Logistics

Over the last 90 years, Longcliffe has built up a reputation for reliability and efficiency. Our supply chain and transport operations are of critical importance, delivering large volumes of high purity product every day. Our experienced sales and logistics teams ensure a fast and reliable service in all weathers, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day if necessary.

UK-wide Distribution

Of our fleet of over 40 bulk tankers and tippers, 30 have been purchased since 2020. This up-to-date fleet offers full national road transport coverage for the timely delivery of over 100 Longcliffe products. All vehicles are fitted with the latest GPS tracking technology offering real-time delivery information and helping to ensure delivery targets are met.

Our fleet of vehicles is dedicated to supplying our products to give the best possible service and, where necessary and requested by our customers, a vehicle can be completely dedicated to carrying a specific calcium carbonate product – helping to avoid any risk of contamination. By carrying out all of our own maintenance and repair, we can reliably meet the tightest of delivery deadlines.

Delivering and Off-Loading Safely

Health and safety is paramount at Longcliffe. All of our drivers go through regular training to ensure their duties are performed in a safe manner while demonstrating exemplary behaviour and attitude.

Our drivers have a strong sense of responsibility to their customers, often delivering to the same clients year-on-year and building strong, long-term relationships.

Transport Sustainability

Longcliffe is wholly committed to investing and maintaining a modern transport fleet that meets and often exceeds relevant industry regulations, such as  FORS Silver*, TASCC, and emissions standards. We take advantage of up-to-date GPS management systems to optimise fleet efficiency, safety and fuel consumption, demonstrating our commitment to operating our distribution network in the most sustainable way possible.

In 2015 we won Smaller Fleet Operator of the year  in the LCRS (Logistics Carbon Reduction Scheme) awards. The LCRS award scheme is an industry initiative to record, report and reduce carbon emissions from freight transport organised by the FTA (Freight Transport Association).

*FORS is a voluntary accreditation scheme for fleet operators. Originally brought in by Transport for London to improve safety for cyclists, it 'aims to driver up standards within fleet opoerations and demonstrate which operators are achieving exemplary levels of best practice in safety, efficiency and environmental protection'. http://www.fors-online.org.uk
