Over 100 ARTISTS TO CELEBRATE THEIR WORK THROUGH SECOND BONSALL VILLAGE TRAIL

After a successful first Bonsall Arts Trail in 2022, the organisers are planning a second event this year – to be held on 29 and 30 June 10am – 5pm.  And local company Longcliffe Quarries Ltd has committed to be the major sponsor for a second time.

The artists who have come forward will display their work in a variety of venues around this beautiful and historic village.  The focus for the event will be the village park on Clatterway.

Artists are encouraged to enter a piece for the Longcliffe prize which has the theme of sustainability.  The winning artist will be chosen from a shortlist at 1030am on Saturday 29 June and the winner presented with £200 and a trophy.

One of the organisers Chris Tkacz explained more: “After running a trail online during the covid pandemic, we were delighted with the popularity of the first in person event we ran in the summer of 2022.  We had around 1000 visitors to the trail which included art from 90 artists.  This year we will feature over 120 artists from Derbyshire and the surrounding area.  They will ensure the Trail shows a diverse and vibrant collection of work including fine art, ceramics, jewellery, metalwork, wood turning, sculpture, mixed media and photography.

“We are delighted that Longcliffe has agreed to sponsor the Bonsall Arts Trail for a second time.  This time we will use their sponsorship to cover the costs of marquees, furniture hire and most importantly transport.  To make sure visiting the trail is as easy as possible, we will be running a ‘hop on hop off’ minibus service from Via Gellia where visitors can park.”

Longcliffe Group Managing Director Paul Boustead added: “We are proud to sponsor the Bonsall Arts Trail for a second time. This year’s Trail already looks set to be an even bigger success story and a cultural calendar highlight for people of the Derbyshire Dales.  We wish the organisers and artists good luck with the event and look forward to judging and presenting the prize to the winner of the Longcliffe award.”

The event will also include workshops, street food, music and artist demonstrations.
