An unsurpassed range of high purity limestone products

With a portfolio of over 100 products, we offer an extensive range of limestone based materials including new, innovative product lines based on limes, hydrates and precipitates produced from our natural calcium carbonate. Key product ranges include:

  • Natural block limestone, aggregates and granules
  • High purity Ground Calcium Carbonates (GCC) for industrial applications
  • Precipitated Calcium Carbonates (PCC)
  • Ground calcium and magnesium limes for agriculture
  • Specialty calcined products including calcium oxides and hydroxides
  • Dolomite aggregates, gravels and powders

Longcliffe has also recently re-established a source of the prestigious Hopton Wood Stone which is highly valued for carving and interior decoration.

Products produced from the purest limestone deposit in Britain

The company's operations are centred on our Brassington Moor quarry which lies between Ashbourne and Bakewell in Derbyshire, within the purest limestone deposit in Britain. We also produce dolomite at our quarry at Ryder Point, also in Derbyshire. Both operations are ISO 9001:2000 certified.

Our products are used in an incredible variety of applications ranging from animal & pet feeds, concrete, construction projects, fertilisers, glass manufacture, landscaping and water treatment to adhesives & sealants, asphalts, carpet-backing, paints, plasters, plastics and rubber.

Longcliffe take environmental responsibilities very seriously and we are committed to ensuring our activities protect and wherever possible enhance biodiversity in the Peak District and UK.  

Our Brassington Moor quarry has been classified as a Regionally Important Geological Site (RIGS) by the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust.

Longcliffe are members of the British Aggregates Association (BAA) and the British Calcium Carbonates Federation (BCCF).
